Memorial Day - 1st day home

Hi, Well, things are going pretty well today. Mostly just slept. I stopped taking some of the meds, which I think was a mistake. I woke up this morning feeling awful. Well, I have been back on them and it seems to be a little better now. I think the more I stay up with them, the better I will feel.

Jerry brought Cooper and Connor by. That was so great! I miss them so much and I think Cooper was pretty worried about his momma. Hopefully they are feeling better about things too. They were in good spirits. They are going to stay with Jerry for a while, but maybe come by after school a couple of nights this week. They are going to a Rod Run in Lander this weekend and Jackson the following weekend, so I am sure they will really enjoy that!

Well, that's about all for now...

Carmen - Your boys must be so proud of their momma!

And listen - you keep taking those meds. I made the same exact mistake in the beginning - but it was too soon. You just got home. No heroism in useless pain. It takes a while for those meds to kick in and fix the kind of headache you have! Take them proactively.

After a while I switched from prescription to Aleve. My doctor advised doubling the dose and taking Prilosec along with it to avoid stomach issues. It worked really well and I weaned myself slowly. I'm not taking it all the time now, just when I get a headache - reactively.

Keep yourself rested and take good care! - Joan

Glad you are home, Carmen. Try to enjoy the rest! I'm sure you were glad to see your boys.

I wanted to tell you that I do not think the incision looks bad at all. It looks like they made it right where your hairline is so someday you won't even see it when your thick hair grows back. I also thought they would have to shave the hair above your ear. Really quite amazing to think of what they did, huh?

Carmen - So glad you are home! I know that you'll have hard days and good days. Hold onto the good ones - it'll keep getting better. Take care of yourself and then later you can take care of the boys again. Sounds like Jerry is keeping them busy. Let us know if you need anything.
Your friend, Missy
